UM plain and simple……who does not LOVE to eat good food at a bridal shower? More importantly, serve food that is interesting and fun?! This week we are getting our foodie on at Bride and Groom and are sharing some entertaining menu options WE LOVE for bridal showers. Food creates a sense of occasion and gives everyone something to do while they’re meeting new people, chatting with old friends, and sizing up the in-laws. Check out our easy, tasty suggestions and get cooking good looking!
FIRST UP….everyone loves a good drink! Mimosas are yummy, but if you are looking for something off the beaten path…..how about a WHOLE BAR of colorful beverages. Juice stands do not take much to set up and the floaty fruit pieces will keep taste buds hopping! Very good idea for an outside, summer shower and keeping everyone nice & cool.
While we are on the happy topic of drinks…..let’s go straight to dessert! What about this cooler than cool ice cream bar? Everyone has a favorite ice cream, loading it up with their favorite topping can put a smile on any guest’s face. Over at ecreamery.com, you can even create your very own flavor…..does not get much more fun!
Now onto the finger food. Are you tired of the same old appetizer’s everyone serves? Looking to spice things up and have your guests leave your place with new ideas and full bellies? The simplest menus are the most enjoyable, if only because you don’t have to fuss over too many details. A tried and true array of finger foods can be tweaked to suit your tastes but still frees you up to enjoy the party.
How about serving up some Caprese Skewers with Marinated Mozzarella, Basil and Tomatoes. (above picture) or some Cocktail Sausages (below picture). EASY PEASY recipes and fast preparation!
Time to cheese it up with some fondu! Nothing puts life into a party like a good o’l dip! Toss out the dainty tea sandwiches for some hot. melty cheese. Make everyone giggle with a sign that says…”CHEESE PLEASE!”
If you are serving a main course…..we have a couple of different options. Mini burgers or Sliders (top picture) seem to be all the rage. What about a Slider Station with a variety of toppings, including including ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, mayo, ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, micro romaine lettuces, tomato, and caramelized onions! Or how about a new twist on boring mac n cheese and whipping up some Lobster Mac n’ Cheese served in Asian spoons (bottom picture).
Planning a bridal shower menu can be tedious. No matter what you culinary level, budget or experience is, plan a simple menu and do not overextend yourself. Bottom line…..don’t allow yourself to be trapped in the kitchen the entire shower in the attempt to impress guests. Tailor the meal to the theme of the shower, enlist help and think outside of the box but now is not the time to experiment in the kitchen! Most importantly…..have fun!
